Punctuation Placement.
"A woman without her man is nothing"
on a whiteboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.
All the males in the class wrote:
"A woman,without her man, is nothing "
all the females in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her, man is nothing"

miscommunications
Ever sent an email or Instant Message which has been "Misinterpreted".
It happens more than most people realise.
Ever got a strangely delayed or curt reply?
It could be that you've been "Misinterpreted",
It is all so easy to cause offence without even realising it.
So often the tone of a message is lost in the translation, When your writing the message it's tone in your mind is sarcastic, serious or whatever but there are no visual clues as to what that tone is to be determined by the reader of that message.
Its dam near impossible to be sarcastic in an e-mail because most people take it the wrong way, even with a smiley winking at you as if to say "lighten up" can fail to indicate the tone of a message.
How many times have you taken an email or forum post to mean something completely different than it's writer intended?
So the year is now 2006 and with all the whizz bang technology in our lives there is Nothing,it seems, that will ever replace a face-to-face conversation.
"In a conversation, keep in mind that you are more interested in what you have to say than anyone else is." - Andy Rooney

Two worlds
Here comes your bride. It's there on page three,
Sanitised expresso styled,
Democracy.
No we've never met beforeI'm very happy to say,
Far from being strangers,I'd like to keep it that way.
Never going to happen,It's dieing on page three,
Sanitised expresso styled,
Democracy.

Ideal democracies
Missing persons
Appear and disappear.
Their broken dreams,
cut the atmosphere.
talk is cheap, it's loud,
Hear both sides of the story,
Join the lonely crowd.
Tune to idle chatter
A blind eye to the screams,
at the heart of the matter,
things are as they seem.

Crushed
Why cant I move?
I can see my desire,it's right there in front of me.
The weight is just unbearable,it's so hard to breathe.
I don't understand what's going on.
I'm sleepy,hearing footfalls,closer.
"Honey can you empty the mousetrap"

The Arrival
Which was strange, as they were not the same.
They never did see the same way.
The suspense was unbearable even as they asked almost suspiciously,
What is behind that curtain?
Confused
Time collapses.
Somewhere in the distance A light-bulb flickers.
Across the hall,Laughter.
I have the wrong room.
